Chyna Thomas, sister of NBA star Isaiah Thomas, died on April 15, Saturday morning in a one-car accident in Washington.
The 22-year-old
sister of the Celtics’ point guard reportedly was not wearing her seat belt and
died at the scene of the accident, according to Washington State Patrol.
Witnesses told a local news station the car was traveling normally at
first then drifted off the road and collided with a large sign post.
Isaiah
Thomas’s status for the top-seeded Celtics in their first-round playoff game
against the Bulls on Sunday is unknown.
“We are
terribly saddened by the tragic loss of Chyna Thomas,” the Celtics said in a
statement. “The thoughts and prayers of the entire Celtics organization are
with Isaiah and his family.”
