KEENE, N.H. —
One person was killed in a crash Monday morning in Keene.
A
portion of Route 9 was closed about 10:30 a.m. after the crash, which involved
an overturned sand-filled tractor-trailer and multiple cars.
The name of the victim has not been released,
pending notification of that person's family.
"We have one confirmed fatality, one in
critical condition, and the other three people involved have minor injuries at
best," Lt. Jason Short said. "I think they all have been released
from the hospital."
Police said the investigation into the collision is
ongoing, but it appears that a pickup truck crossed the center line and struck
the tractor-trailer.
"Those two vehicles collided, and as a result
of that, it looks like the tractor-trailer lost control and came into the
eastbound lane and struck another vehicle," Short said.
The road was closed between Washington Street and
the Route 10 intersection. The area is not known to be prone to accidents.
"Sometimes due to weather, but this really
isn't a common area for accidents like this," Lt. Steven Tenney said.
The road was back open by Monday evening.
Hering, who runs a jewelry shop nearby, said this
happened during rush hour.
Videos show people on the street watching the scene
while others were trying to escape the bees.

system is partially obstructed by bees. Please approach with caution." Source: wmur.com
