Coast Guard searching for woman after boating accident

MIAMI (AP) The U.S. Coast Guard is searching for a South Florida woman who went missing after an apparent boating accident in the Straits of Florida.
A Coast Guard news release says Isabella Hellman was last seen Sunday evening aboard her and her husband’s 37-foot catamaran about 30 miles west of Cay Sal, The Bahamas.
The Delray Beach woman’s husband, Lewis Bennett, issued a distress call early Monday morning, reporting that his boat had struck an unknown object and that he was abandoning ship. He also told the Coast Guard that he had been below deck sleeping and didn’t know where his wife was. Rescue crews found Bennett in a life raft.

Two cutters, a helicopter and an airplane have been dispatched to the area to search for Hellman. Source: winknews.com
